Casualty company is an established fire insurance company serving
four states. Our close-knit team prides itself on excellent
customer service and adaptability.Job SummarySpecialized focus on
advanced property claims. Investigates, inspects and evaluates
claims by telephone or in-person and determines extent of
liability. Issues payment on claims within prescribed authority and
in the best economic interest of the Company and policyholders.
Case load will generally consist of medium to high complexity
property claims.Primary ResponsibilitiesInvestigates coverage and
obtains facts related to all property claims assigned.Interviews
insureds, claimants, witnesses, and any other persons necessary,
obtaining relevant information to determine coverage with regard to
property claims assigned. Recommends denials where the facts
support this determination.Obtains, checks, and analyzes items of
investigation and damages, such as material damage and property
estimates and bills, police reports, medical records and bills,
photographs and diagrams. Recognizes subrogation opportunities and
accurately documents the claim file to enhance recovery.Provides
complete and accurate file documentation.Maintains accurate
reserves.Verifies and evaluates all information obtained and issues
claim payments within prescribed authority.Prepares and submits
recommendations for claim handling and requests authority from
proper level of management when applicable.Develops and utilizes
resources and uses good judgment in order to provide the best
service to policyholders while controlling claims costs.Provides
professional, prompt and efficient claims service to all claim
customers.Additional ResponsibilitiesAccomplish tasks as
appropriately assigned or requested.Accompany Marketing staff on
agency visits.Knowledge and Skill RequirementsBachelor's Degree or
equivalent experience5-7 years of experience in property
claimsHAAG, IICRC, or WTR designation, preferredExcellent
communication skillsAbility to analyze information and make sound
decisionsStrong understanding of Xactimate, Word and Excel software
programsGood organizational skillsExpressive of United Heritage

work will be done in office with occasional field work. Some
overnight travel may be required. Evening and weekend work may be
required in cases of emergency (e.g. storms, floods or other
naturally occurring catastrophic events, etc.) or when parties to a
claim cannot be contacted during normal business hours. Some
driving, or other physical exertion may be included.For Office:
Work is performed in an office environment. Required to sit for
long periods of time. Visual acuity to perform reading and computer
