This position ensures that our vehicles and facilities are at an exceptional level of operation, and that facilities and equipment are maintained in a proactive, positive, and helpful manner.In this position you will have the opportunity to::Perform mechanical, routine maintenance and general repair of line trucks and other vehicles and equipment.Ensure interior facilities, exterior grounds, parking lots and vehicles are maintained, functioning efficiently and have a clean appearance, responds to faculty and staff in a prompt and courteous manner.Maintain shop area, tools, and equipment in a logical and organized format to minimize theft and ensure they are operating properly.Assist the Facilities Manager in coordinating the work of contractors related to maintenance and improvement projects.Purchases parts, equipment, and supplies as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of vehicles and equipment.Operate large equipment such as bucket truck, trailer, backhoe, and yard equipment safely.Assist with the set-up of facilities for meetings, classroom events, conferences, general campus events and graduation; may work individually or as a team for set-up and tear-down.Implement and support all established NLC policies, including those established by supervisor.Commit to continual self-improvement and lifelong learning; and ensuring the success of other Eagles and the organization, in accordance with NLC's mission, ethos, and values.Required Education & Experience::High school diploma or GEDMinimum of two (2) years' prior work experience in vehicle maintenance, general construction, and facility repairs, or any combination of equivalent education and experienceValid driver's license, good driving record, and able to obtain a CDL Class A with Airbrake endorsement and Certified Forklift Operator's license during first year of employmentAbility to perform routine vehicle maintenance and repair (engines, brakes, hydraulics), carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and system repair and maintenance (HVAC) preferredSkilled in landscape maintenance (sprinkler systems, tree trimming, mowing, etc.) preferredAbility to operate large equipment (forklift, bucket truck, trailers, tractor, backhoe, and yard equipment) preferredExperience using power and hand tools preferredSalary:$23.11-$25.67 hourly, DOEHow to Apply?:Visit lineman.edu/careers or click the apply button.
