Job Description:

PURPOSE: To assist the Operations and Branch Manager to achieve the safety objectives of the branch. BASIC FUNCTIONS Must adhere to Harris Rebars safety programs and standards. Demonstrate conduct consistent with Harris Rebars vision and values. Act as a resource for safety related issues supporting the operation and branch managers. Monitor compliance with legislated standards. Use personal experience and training to assist all crews in hazard identification. Conduct and document regular safety inspections. Conduct regular interviews with shop Teammates to determine and confirm their understanding of Harris Rebars Code of Safest PRACTICES. Take corrective action directly with foremen, superintendents, teammates, or General Contractors if a safety concern is observed. Monitor medical visits and follow ups, attend every appointment with injured teammate. Complete and track all reporting. Ensure that superintendents and foremen complete thorough injury / near miss incident reports, including taking photographs, teammate and witness statements, and root cause reports for all OSHA recordable injuries. Administer new hire safety orientations for new teammates. Audit reporting of orientation program. Review Investigation reports, environmental incident report, medical or first aid cases, and reports of damage to property or equipment to verify that corrective action has been completed. Monitor/participate in the investigation of safety observations, near miss incidents and accidents. Recommend corrective action to prevent recurrence. Organize safety seminars for management and production staff. Maintain records, including electronically maintaining training records. Promote Health and Safety, lead by example. Perform other duties as required by your supervisor. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. High school diploma or equivalent At least 2 years of industry experience preferred or an active safety related role Knowledge of OSHA standards including CFR 1910 SELECTION CRITERIA Ability to work as a team member on projects with an aptitude for problem solving Organized and detail oriented Able to manage time effectively and prioritize responsibilities Effective verbal and communication skills SPECIAL DEMANDS Off prime shift work required to meet with and train teammates on other shifts PHYSICAL DEMANDS Typical office activities Walking, sitting, standing, bending Using hands to operate objects, tools, computers and other electronic equipment Lifting/handling computers and related equipment.
