Do you have experience using hand/power tools? Would you enjoy a
hands on job in a manufacturing environment? Atlas Staffing is
seeking a driven, hard working Machine Operator to join a growing
company that specializes in manufacturing construction equipment in
Fabricates and works on structural metal products such as framework
or shells for machinery, concrete construction equipment, and metal
parts by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Locates and marks bending and cutting lines onto work-piece
Sets up and operates fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls,
shears, laser, and saw
Hammers, chips, and grinds work-piece to cut, bend, and straighten
Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools,
attachments, accessories, and materials on machines
Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as
speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut or bend, or
enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine
Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or
out-of-tolerance fabricating, and adjusts machine controls or
control media as required
Verifies conformance of work-piece to specifications
Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of
machine settings or programmed control data
Confers with department lead or supervisor to resolve fabrication
Operates hoist safely
Performs other duties that may be assigned
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or a Metals
Fabrication Certificate from a technical college or trade school;
or one to three months related experience and/or training; or
equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words
and to recognize similarities and differences between words and
between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak
Ability to perform basic addition and subtraction; Demonstrates
ability to measure in feet, inches, and thousandths using tape
measures and precision
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out
instructions furnished in written, verbal or diagram
form. Ability to deal with problems involving several
concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to operate hand tools & air powered tools.
Ability to operate fabrication equipment i.e. brake, shear, laser,
rollers, punch and saws.
Ability to operate hoist.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50
pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job
include close vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
Employee may be exposed to various chemicals such as metal working
fluid, brake fluid, parts washer, cleaners, etc.
Noise level in the environment is loud and hearing protection is
Shift: Monday - Thursday 6:00AM - 4:30PM
Wage: $14-$17 DOE
