JobOverview

Apply Engineering principles to design, validateand integrate electrical systems and components used in school and commercialbus applications that set the industry benchmark for safety, performance,reliability and cost.

Responsibilities

  • Apply electrical engineering techniques and principles to design school bus electrical systems.
  • Ensure projects are cost-effective, functionally/electrically sound, friendly to down-stream departments, and compliance with FMVSS, CMVSS, and state regulations.
  • Effectively communicate information to team.
  • Research state-of-the-art developments in the vehicle industry and apply the latest advances to develop low cost solutions.
  • Create and test feature parameters in a simulation environment for electrical systems required by databook options.
  • Use Pro-Engineer and Teamcenter to develop 3D models, installation drawings, schematics and bills of materials.
  • Support production, warranty reduction and field service corrective actions with reliable, serviceable, low cost solutions.
  • Foster strong internal relationships with Manufacturing, Field Service, Quality, Purchasing, and other departments.
  • Interface with Test Group personnel to prototype new systems, perform development testing and apply test results to new designs.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

Bachelors Degreefrom an accredited university/college with 1 year of related experience OR anAssociates Degree with 2 years ofrelated experience or 6 years of related experience required

Experience withCAN communication/J1939 network protocols required

An attached resume is required

Typical Minimum Experience Preferred (Desired Skills/Experience)

A degreefocus in Electrical Engineering preferred

Experienceanalyzing network communications using CANoe preferred

Experience withMatlab/Simulink p referred

Prior experiencewith 3D CAD software preferred

Prior experience with PLM software developingB.O.M preferred
