This is a full-time position with full state benefits. The anticipated work schedule is 40 hours per week with some occasional overtime required. Example of Duties The Customer Service Representative 1 classification is a general office support position used by many different state agencies. As such the specific duties performed by a Customer Service Representative 1 may differ slightly from agency to agency. In this position the incumbent will primarily provide customer support by greeting customers either in person, over the phone, or via email. They will answer a variety of questions from customers regarding building permit applications, agency jurisdictional boundaries, how to use the online permit application system, taking credit card information to pay permit fees, and answer general questions about statutes and rules related to building permits. The incumbent will also perform data processing through processing and coding building permits received via mail, fax, or in person. They will review permit applications for completeness and accuracy, verify correct permit fee amounts and agency jurisdiction, correct and resend updated fee requirements when needed, input written permit information into the online permit application system, and update contractor address information. Minimum Qualifications Experience: + Questioning customers to obtain detailed information in a business setting; + Explaining policies, procedures, or rules; + Independently handling complaints and upset individuals in a business setting; + Answering a business telephone using knowledge of business telephone procedures and etiquette; + Reviewing documents and records for accuracy and completeness; + Accessing data using a computerized records system.
