- Neonatal Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Nampa, Idaho.
Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: NICU - Neonatal
Intensive Care - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 07/28/2025 -
Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights -
Employment Type: Travel Shift Notes 7p-7a weekends as needed, Float
to all St. Lukes Treasure Valley Sites-Meridian, Nampa, Boise in
primary skill set (L&D, Postpartum, or Antepartum) or as a
sitter. NICU Unit Summary – St Nampa Hospital Required
Qualifications & Skills - Minimum 3 years NICU RN experience -
First-time travelers welcome - Must be experienced in: - Attending
and supporting all c-sections (scheduled, urgent, emergent) -
Newborn stabilization, initial assessment, and “eyes & thighs”
(erythromycin, vitamin K, hepatitis B) - Completing a 2-hour
newborn assessment - Delivery attendance and resuscitation -
Preferred: Background in Mother/Baby care; may be required to care
for both newborn and mother Certifications (Required) - STABLE -
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - BLS (Basic Life Support)
Staffing & Support - Charge RN: Covers entire LDRP NICU unit -
Resource RN: Assists with high-risk deliveries, stabilizations,
c-sections; may have 1 patient - CNAs: Shared between LDRP and NICU
- Neonatal NP: In-house coverage 24/7 - Respiratory Therapy: CPAP
only; ventilated patients are transferred to Level III NICU -
Telemetry: Continuous centralized monitoring system - No titratable
drips or complex IV medications Additional Notes - 50-mile radius
rule in effect - No acrylic, gel, or lacquered fingernails
permitted due to NICU infection control standards - Travelers
frequently extend or return to this unit Department: Women’s
Services – NICU | Floor 3 Location: Nampa, Idaho Facility Type:
Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Unit Details - NICU Level:
Level II - Bed Count: 8 private NICU suites (each infant in their
own room) - Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:3 - Shifts: 12-hour shifts
(0700–1900 / 1900–0700); Resource and Charge RNs work 0645–1845 or
1845–0645 - Scrubs: Hospital-issued scrubs required (must change in
and out at shift start/end) - Orientation: 3 shifts of
unit-specific orientation; all compliance and EPIC/Curio modules
must be completed prior to start Patient Population - Gestational
Age: 32 weeks and greater - Common Diagnoses: - Respiratory
distress - Feeders and growers - Hypoglycemia - Neonatal Abstinence
Syndrome (NAS) – opioid withdrawal Scheduling & Assignment Details
- Traveler Scheduling: - First contract: schedule filled into open
needs - Future schedules: preference considered, but subject to
core staff priority - Block scheduling not guaranteed - Cannot work
more than 6 shifts consecutively - Weekend Requirement: Based on
unit needs; no minimum required - Holiday Requirement: No set
requirement, but may be scheduled if needed - On-Call/Standby: Not
required - Floating: May float to other St. Luke’s NICU sites
(Meridian, Boise, Nampa) or serve as sitter - Travel Duos: Must
have separate transportation (potential to be assigned to different
