  • Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:5 occasional 1:6-very rarely happens
  • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Primarily a Medical floor with a little surgical overflow. Respiratory, GI, anything medical that you wouldn't do surgery on, behavioral health- if pts been in ER for more than 1 day will room up here to work on d/c plan.
  • Experience or 'Must have' skills: Must have 2 years of MedSurg experience. Must have EPIC experience. Must be able to read and interpret tele.

      • Schedule Information
      • Shifts: 12 hours 7-730
      • Weekend Requirement: 5 weekend shifts in a 6 week period
      • Holiday Requirement: Yes
      • Floating Requirements: Will float between MedSurg 5, MedSurg 6, and a 9 bed overflow unit

        • Required certifications: BLS
        • Common titratable &/or set rate drips: heparin, PCAs, morphine drips
        • Charge Nurse on each shift
        • ADT nurse helps with admits, discharges, and tasking
        • Nurse aids/patient care techs ratio: 1:8
        • RT Equipment: CPAP, BiPAP-RT manages, high flow
        • Tele/monitor techs: Virtual Tele techs
        • Orientation: 3 days of general orientation including EPIC training plus 2 shifts on-unit with a preceptor
        • Dress Code: Any color as long as clean and professional

          • Floating may include to ER for holds or to be a 1:1
