Job Description The Surgery Center of Idaho (SCI), a physician-owned, fully-accredited, multi-specialty, ambulatory surgery center (ASC), recognized as a leader in advanced procedures and quality patient care, seeks a motivated and team-oriented Certified Surgical Technologist (CST). Candidates must possess at least one year of experience working in a surgical environment with patient populations ranging from pediatric to geriatric. Candidates must have graduated from a School of Surgical Technology with current national certification as a CST. Responsibilities Include: Assists surgeon during operative and invasive procedures. Ensures operating suite is adequately prepared for procedure. Monitors PAR level of all surgical instruments and supplies. Cleans and sterilizes all surgical instruments. Accurately completes operating room counts (instruments, sponges, needles). Assists the circulating nurse as needed. Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks and demonstrates flexibility as job priorities change. Willing to take on new work routines/methods. Participates in performance improvement activities. The CST shall be competent and current in the use of essential equipment, infection control practices and safety practices which affect patients, visitors, and personnel in the operating room. Competency will be maintained in accordance with criteria defined by the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST). This is a full-time position working four, 10 hour days, up to 40 hours per week.
