Job Description:
Quality Manager
OVERVIEW:As the Quality Manager, you will manage the daily activity
of the QA function in support of Manufacturing. You will interface
directly with manufacturing and engineering, as well as additional
groups - both internally and externally - to ensure the quality of
manufactured tools are meeting established standards. You will also
develop, implement, and maintain a total quality program and will
be responsible for training current and future staff.
Key Responsibilities: - Implement a Quality Management System that
is equivalent to that of an ISO9001 registered program - Prepare,
maintain, and implement the Quality Plan, processes, and procedures
- Audit plant processes to ensure written documents are current and
adhered to - Overall responsibility to assure the quality of
manufactured tools and outgoing products - Track, implement,
analyze, and report on effectiveness of internal processes and
corrective actions - Track, implement, analyze, and report on Key
Performance Indicators (KPI's) - Monitor and report on quality
goals and performance, analyze issues to determine root cause -
Develop, describe, and implement corrective actions when necessary,
including direct written / verbal communications with employees'
staff and vendors - Communicate with the sales team and customers
regarding quality related topics - Document & maintain
customer/vendor quality plans, and coordinate customer/vendor
audits as appropriate - Manage all QA personnel, train as necessary
in quality operations, and coach manufacturing & design personnel
in proper procedures - Ensure the QA team have the best equipment
to support all inspection tasks, as well as ensuring proper
training processes are developed, leading to the effective use of
all inspection equipment.
Education, Experience and Skills: - Bachelor's degree in
Engineering desired - 5+ years of Quality Operations experience in
a manufacturing environment - Excellent mechanical aptitude
required. Must have ability to read and understand Engineering
drawings - Excellent analytical skills required, including
knowledge of principles, practices, concepts, and theories related
to quality assurance, and root cause analysis - Advanced skills in
Microsoft Office Suite; specifically, MS Word, Excel, and
PowerPoint - Experience interfacing with external customers/vendors
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Proven
ability to function in a self-directed environment - Demonstrated
ability to multi-task and handle numerous tasks simultaneously -
Occasional travel required
