Job Description Job Description Mechanical Design Engineer Title: Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Caldwell, ID Skills: Must have experience or knowledge in machine design and food processing (augers, mixers, belt conveyers, chain and sprocket, pneumatics, and hydraulics) Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and components. This position requires a deep understanding of engineering principles and a passion for innovation in manufacturing. Key Responsibilities Design and develop mechanical components and systems according to specifications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical designs with electrical and software systems. Conduct simulations and analyses to validate design performance and reliability. Create and maintain detailed design documentation, including drawings and specifications. Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers. Support the manufacturing process by troubleshooting and resolving design-related issues. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Proven experience in mechanical design and engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Understanding of basic hydraulics, pneumatics, vacuum and power transmission (Sprocket and Chain Gearing) Understanding of food manufacturing processes, USDA Good Manufacturing Practices, and Sanitary Design principals. SolidWorks proficiency through SW2023 Mechanical stress and strain analysis familiarity Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering principles. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
