Job Description:
Scentsy is looking for a Data Engineer to provide innovative
modernization and ensure the availability, reliability, and
performance of Scentsys Data Analytics eco-system.This job worked
at our home office in Meridian, ID.Please note: We are unable to
provide H-1B visa work sponsorship for this position.What You Will
Do:Serve as part of our Data Engineering and Analytics team,
providing data analytics capabilities for various Scentsy Business
partners and customersInfluence and evangelize analytical
methodologies to support business partners needsAct as a technical
lead for designing and implementing custom reports and
dashboardsAssess requirements and assist with developing data
eco-system infrastructureSolve complex business problems through
data analysis and providing data-driven solutions that help drive
the business forwardInterface with data analysts to define and
implement data requirements to meet their analytic needsParticipate
in the design and build of conceptual, logical, and physical data
models to support business analyticsRecommend data strategies, ETL
processes, and procedures for getting data in and out of the data
warehouse and data lakeDesign, build, test, and maintain reliable
pipelines to move and transform data accurately based on
architectural standardsCreate cloud-based solutions and processes
that enable data and information workersEnsure that the performance
and cost of the data environment is optimized for the
organizationCultivate cross-functional team and department
collaborative relationshipsDesign, develop, and maintain data
processing in SQL Server/SnowflakeBuild required infrastructure for
efficient extraction, transformation, and loading of data from
various data sources using SQL technologiesWork with collaborators,
including data, design, and product teams, and assist them with
data-related technical issuesSupport the data infrastructure needs
of collaborators, including the Product, Data, and Design teams,
while assisting with data-related technical issuesTest reporting
solutions and provide trainingInteract with technical resources
from various teams within the IT department to define and test
technical changes to the systemDesign and implement custom reports
and dashboardsTranslate analytical program models, including but
not limited to scripting, error handling, and documentationWork
with users from various functional areas (sales, order processing,
shipping, logistics, credit, finance, marketing, etc.)Analyze
processes ensuring sustainability, supportability, and
automationIdentify new data from additional internal or 3rd party
systems and transform it to work cohesively within existing data
warehousing modelsParticipate in evaluating new technologies to
ensure data and technology architecture advancement within the
organizations Data eco-systemIdentify development needs to improve
and streamline business operationsProvide stakeholders with quality
data so the business can make sound, data-driven decisions, and
recommendationsCoach and mentor less experienced engineersPerform
all other assigned tasks and requirements as neededWe're Looking
For:Bachelors degree in business, Business Intelligence, Data
Warehouse or data related field or equivalent related experience5
years of data warehouse/BI engineering/data engineering experience
and/or 3 years of BI experienceExperience in data access and
delivery technologies, including familiarity with data quality
assessment, data organization, metadata, and data profilingAbility
to take complex, ambiguous problems, break them down into smaller
parts, and problem solve to come up with a whole, integrated, and
strategic solutionSignificant knowledge of and experience with best
practices for data modeling, dimensional modeling (Star schema),
data ingestion, queries, and data loading optionsWide experience of
cloud data technologies such as Snowflake and RedShiftSignificant
experience with BI tools such as AWS QuickSight, Power BI, R,
Python, SAP Business Objects and Web Intelligence (WEBI) reporting
tools, and other visualization toolsSignificant experience with AWS
Services like Cloud Formation, S3, Glue, State Machine, Lambda,
Event Bridge, SNS and AppflowAbility to self-learn and lead teams
into new technologies and engineering methodsAbility to solve
technical problems relevant to data engineering using programming
languages (SQL and Python)Demonstrate the ability to solution with
AWS services and provision infrastructure from
code/templateExcellent data manipulation and analysis
skillsExcellent skills in SQL, data modeling, data warehousing,
data lake, and OLAPExcellent written and oral communication
skillsExperience in SSIS and SAP BODSExperience with SAP systems
including table structure, field definitions, CDS views and usage,
a plusExperience with git, a plusExperience with Redgate Flyway, a
plusFamiliarity with Agile FrameworkAdvanced critical thinking,
